German Courses for International Teachers (Erasmus+)
Join us for our popular Teacher Training Courses in Regensburg: improving and refreshing your German language skills and exchanging ideas with colleagues while enjoying a cultural immersion in one of Germany’s most beautiful cities.
Our teacher training course consists of several one-week modules that can be booked separately or combined into a two-week programme of intensive German language training.
Together with fellow teachers from all over the world you will receive various insights into methodology and didactics, regional studies and other relevant topics expanding your knowledge and comprehension of German language and culture.

Required level of German
To join our teacher training course a minimum level of B2 is required.
Objectives
- Refreshing one’s oral and communication oriented German language skills
- Updating one’s knowledge in current German affairs
- Expanding one’s expertise in modern, communication-oriented teaching methodology
- Benefit from the exchange and sharing of best practice with colleagues.
We expect the participants to actively contribute to the lessons. We would be pleased to discuss your ideas, teaching materials, projects, etc. It should not be expected to get ready-made material for their own teaching practice.
Timetable
All teacher training courses at Horizonte consist of 30 lessons per week.*
- Linguistic skills
Standard Course: Monday to Friday 09.00 to 10.30 & 11.00 to 12.30, 20 lessons (45 min each) per week in international groups (not guaranteed)
Training of oral and listening skills, idiomatic matters, error correction, working with current authentic texts
- Module-specific content
Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri from 13.30: a total of 10 weekly lessons in 4 units (450 minutes*)
Workshops, seminars and didactic activities covering relevant module-specific topics.
*In the rare case that there is only one teacher enroled for a specific date, he/she will receive 5 individual lessons instead.

You will also have the opportunity to join our diverse programme of extracurricular activities after your course. These include talks on current political, economic, cultural, literary topics, guided city tours, cultural activities, excursions and many more. This programme is open for all Horizonte students.

Preparation
The participants will receive the programme and other useful pre-course information prior to the course start.
Erasmus+ grants
All our teacher training courses are eligible for funding by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.
In order to apply for funding you will need our OID number: E10114453.
Follow-up
Participants who receive Erasmus+ funding will be asked to hand in a detailed commentary on the course, including how the course will have impact on the professional development in their own country.
