Translation
Course
20/30 classes per week
As examination preparation for students of German, trainee-translators
and other interested parties. Students of the same native language
work in small groups on the translation into German of newspaper
articles, literary and other texts. The teachers' mother tongue
is of course German with an extensive knowledge of the foreign
language in question. Languages normally offered are: English,
French, Spanish, Italian. Other languages by arrangement. If
requested, this course includes translations from the target
language into the mother tongue and dictation.
We offer two types of translation courses:
A) In combination with a General Language Course. After the
morning classes you have 10 classes per week translation exercises
in the afternoon. This course is available throughout the
year.
B) As a specialized translation course with 4 classes in the
morning (for groups of at least 4 people).
DSH
(former PNDS, Exam Preparation Course)
4 weeks, 30 classes per week, required level: intermediate
All foreign students who wish to study in Germany must take
the DSH, and this course specifically targets it. The topics
and exercises are geared to the particular style of question
in this exam. A special leisure programme will help you to get
your bearings at university.
Literature
Courses
30 classes per week (20 classes in the
General Language Course and 10 classes literature; required
level: intermediate)
For everyone who is interested in German Literature.
Content: German Literature from the baroque period to the
present day.
The characteristics of the various periods are highlighted
through sample extracts. You will quickly get an overview
of the History of German Literature and can refresh your knowledge
for examination purposes. |
